Advent 2025 - DAY 25 — LOVE HAS COME

DAY 25 — LOVE HAS COME
Scripture: John 1:14

“And the Word became flesh and lived among us.”

Merry Christmas Eve everyone - may God bless you and your families.  Travel mercies for those on the road. Hope to see you at the candlelight service this evening.

I intentionally kept these daily reading short so the stories could be the reflection for each the day and the Advent season.  We kind of go full circle today's story.  It's not the same as day one - but has the same tone that reflects how - we are all in this mystery of life together.
On Christmas morning in 1914, soldiers on opposing sides of World War I laid down their weapons and stepped into the open. They shared food, sang carols, and exchanged small gifts.

For one brief day, love interrupted fear. A soldier later wrote, “It was as if Christmas reminded us who we really were.”

Reflection:
Christmas arrives as the declaration that love has come — not as an idea, but as a person. Jesus enters the world with arms open, offering grace, mercy, and life.

I also intentionally kept the prayer's short - just a few words to move us through the season - God knows our heart. The prayers are a simple reminder to thank Him for the gift of life and the promise of hope that he gives us each day.

Prayer:
Emmanuel, thank You for coming to us.
Let Your love shape my life, today and always.
Amen.
