Pentecost Week Eleven - Where Is Your Faith?

Friday: Where Is Your Faith?

"Ya Gotta have Faith faith faith.. baby!" - I promise not to sing that again this year in my sermon.... ohhhh that's a tough promise.

So, we’ve spent the week on the boat, and none of us smell like fish - an amazing accomplishment.

Today, we step back and reflect on the question Jesus asked His disciples—and perhaps us too—“Where is your faith?”  (You know where this is going!)

Historical Context:
In first-century Jewish thought, faith wasn’t just about belief; it was about action. To have faith in someone meant to trust them enough to act on their words. For the disciples, Jesus’ question wasn’t an accusation—it was an invitation to grow.

The disciples’ fear and amazement at the end of the story reflect their growing realization of Jesus’ identity.

They knew the Scriptures, but now they were experiencing the living Word in action. Their fear wasn’t just terror—it was reverent awe, a recognition that they were in the presence of God Himself.

Modern Context:
What would Jesus ask about your faith today? (I warned you)
Are you trusting Him with your whole heart, or are you still holding back parts of your life?

Faith isn’t a one-time act; it’s a daily commitment to trust God, even when life doesn’t make sense. Maybe you’ve been asking, “Who is this?” about Jesus.

The answer is found in His authority over the storm, His presence in the boat, and His power to transform your life.

Reflection:
Take time today to reflect on how your faith has grown—or been challenged—this week. What have you learned about God’s presence, power, and love? How can you carry these lessons forward into the storms of life?

Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for leading me through this week and showing me more of who You are. Strengthen my faith and help me to trust You in every circumstance. Teach me to rest in Your presence, knowing You are always in control. I surrender my fears to You today.
Amen.

If this week's blogs were  to short - leave me a comment and let me know.  I probably will not change, it but will certainly factor it in to next week content.

They were short but complete. Thought provoking and there is a message.
