Advent 2025 - Day 6 — Joy In God’s House

Day 6 — Joy In God’s House
Scripture: Psalm 122:1–2

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’ Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.”

In 2020, after months of strict COVID restrictions, a cathedral in Italy reopened for worship. When the bells rang, the whole neighborhood leaned out their windows, applauding. People gathered in the square, many with tears on their faces.

As the doors opened, children ran ahead of their parents. Elderly worshipers knelt just inside the entrance, overwhelmed.

One journalist wrote, “It felt like the soul of the city had come home.” Worship wasn’t just a ritual that day — it was a reunion with God.

Reflection:
God designed us for worship — to gather, to rejoice, to return to Him again and again. Advent invites us to rediscover the joy of entering His presence with gladness.

Where is God inviting you to rediscover joy in meeting with Him?

Prayer:
Lord, renew my joy in worship and revive my gladness in Your presence.
Help me enter Your courts with gratitude and leave with renewed hope.
Amen.
