Day 13 — Peace In Community
Scripture: Romans 12:18
“If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
In 2022, a town in Colorado organized what they called a “Community Repair Day.” Instead of discussing differences at town meetings — which had grown heated — they decided to serve together.
People who had argued for months ended up rebuilding a playground, painting fences, and planting trees side by side.
One participant said, “We didn’t agree more after that day. But we loved each other more.”
Reflection:
We cannot control how others respond, but we can choose to do our part. Peace is often built through small acts of cooperation, service, and kindness.
Where might God be calling you to take a step toward someone for the sake of peace?
Prayer:
Lord, help me be a person who sows peace in my community.
Give me humility, patience, and love for those around me.
Amen.
